About Olachi.
Olachi Oleru is a resident surgeon at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY. As a medical student, she has founded and served on the executive boards of many organizations, on which she coordinated volunteer activities in the surrounding Brooklyn community.
She has also been committed to improving patient care through her research and has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences. She has a burgeoning interest in reconstructive and gender affirming surgery. Please see CV for more info.
Her interest in global health and health disparities led her to co-found Luso Labs, a medical device company aimed at providing accessible cervical cancer screening to patients in lower income countries.
She has a passion for medical innovation and entrepreneurship, especially as biomedical engineering concepts move from the bench to the bedside.
She has a vested interest in supporting URM students, and always welcomes the opportunity to mentor, contribute to ongoing initiatives, or brainstorm new initiatives.
